چکیده
Background/Aim: Nowadays, many deaths are related to vessel injury-induced blood loss. Failure control bleeding also increases the risk of death. This study aimed investigate hemostatic effects Algan Hemostatic Agent (AHA) foam application in a rat model which severe femoral artery was induced.
Methods: Fourteen rats were randomly assigned two groups: (1) (physiological saline) (n = 7) and (2) AHA 7). The left incised when started, area pressed with another sponge for 10 s all rats. Afterwards, physiological saline solution impregnated gauze or placed over same area. A chronometer started checked after 2 min. If no occurred during first min application, it recorded as “successful”. occurred, procedure repeated up three times. hemostasis could not be achieved even third considered failure, “failed” recorded. All animals sacrificed under high anesthesia least experiment.
Results: Application resulted complete (100%) within In group, 1 out 7 (14.3%) by application. remaining six success rate significantly higher than rates group (P 0.005).
Conclusion: is very effective agent can applied easily on vascular trauma models. Further studies needed elucidate features AHA.
